Josef Smek
Josef Smek was born on December 23, 1955 in Jablunkov - Czech Republic
He was studied promotional graphic art on secundary technical school in Ostrava where he lives and works. He was working as artist in Krátký film Praha, studio Prometheus (TV production) before Velvet Revolution in Czech Republic 1989.
After this, his brother who emigrated in 1981 to USA told him these words: ,,If you want to be really free and independent and if you want to draw what you want. And you don't want to listen to the boss, as it should be - just listen to the voice of the people and streets, then you have to have your own business which allows you all this.
Since 1992 Josef Smek has become a Herbalife independent distributor. He has taken the risk and started to work as a freelance artist.
He is a great admirer of the life and works of Andy Warhol, Michelangole Buonarotti and Pablo Picasso. Most of his work belongs to Pop art.
Since he has become a Herbalife independent distributor he set up lots of exhibitions in Czech Republic above all in Ostrava where he composes and lives. He shared several exhibitions in Poland and Germany.
As he says: "Herbalife has given me wings with its products which I have regularly used since 1991. It makes me feel great, I am full of energy and I am in great physical and mental condition. I need all this because of meeting all my dreams and goals."
His works are lent in banks, hotels. He cooperates with Czech television and his paintings and statues are in private collections in a lot of countries.
